Top 3 Perfumes Quotes and What They Mean

Posted by MAIR on Sep 23rd 2021

When we think of fragrances that have transcended time, scents created by Chanel and Dior come to mind. And oddly enough, when it comes to the most quoted statements about perfumes, they come from these classic fragrance houses as well.

Quote #1

Ladies, a man will never remember your handbag, but he will remember your perfume. - Olivier Creed

We’ve all heard this one right? What makes perfume so important that would make you want to skip out on purchasing the latest LV bag? The lingering impression it leaves. Yes, I know handbags are a great way to celebrate achievements and that they serve as great statement pieces. But if you’re trying to impress a man (take it from me) they are clueless when it comes to handbags and the statement you’re trying to make. But with a fragrance?! That’s an invisible power that stays with him that he will remember.

Quote #2

A woman's perfume tells more about her than her handwriting. - Christian Dior

I’ll be honest with you, I saw this quote on memes before I became heavily involved in the fragrance industry and never really understood it. It was shortly after I launched my own brand that I truly understood what Dior meant when he said this.

Like our fingerprint, our handwriting is equally unique. It’s the uniqueness in the style that Dior is referring to. Whether you’re a fragrance junkie and wear a different scent each day or someone who likes to wear the same fragrance for a length of time, the fragrance you choose to spritz is like a business card you hand out to be remembered after your interaction.

Quote #3

A woman should wear perfume wherever she wants to be kissed. - Coco Chanel

I saved the best for last. This is definitely my favorite perfume quote of all time. It speaks to the seductive nature and power of a fragrance. I’m asked all the time, “where should I apply my perfume?” And in short, for optimal wear, you should apply it to parts of the body that are naturally warm and moist. However, wouldn’t you agree that Chanel had an even better response to this question?
